Safety Message

Folks, don’t try this at home!  Or, in Glacier!

This is me telling you that I don’t recommend going off trail if you don’t know what you are doing or where you are at.  Not that I’m some super athlete, but I do know what I’m doing and have over ten years experience in Glacier and its farthest reaches.  Even the most knowledgeable can get hurt in a chaotic situation.  There are no rules or absolutes about a truly untamed place like Glacier.

The dangers of bears, cliffs, water and weather all add up to make this a pretty dangerous project.

Through the years I have asked the advice of hundreds of Glacier’s most experienced explorers.  I have crunched every number and all available logistics to keep myself as safe as possible.

I never travel alone off trail, without bear spray and have been known to bail if the situation doesn’t seem right.

This is not a guide book.  It is a website to raise money, tell my stories and show my photos.   I may sound too serious but I’ve seen friends hurt and die.  Every year people come unprepared for a true wilderness, but that is what they find.

With that said, go enjoy yourself where ever you are and enjoy the wilds while they still exist!!

Have fun, but stay safe out there!!!

To Life,
Marc
